Union of Photocopier Repairers laments national drop in Christmas parties
Despite a high profile ‘no’ campaign, there was surprise today as turkeys voted overwhelmingly in favour of Christmas.
With nearly two-thirds voting yes, turkeys are expected to be fully integrated into roast potatoes, charcoaled chipolatas and suspicious vegetables within the next month.
The head of the electoral commission, Mr B. Matthews, refuted claims of widespread election fraud, despite a large ‘yes’ vote in the traditionally conservative wards of East Anglia.
Although those eligible to vote were urged to put a firm peck against their choice, there were many hanging chads which caused controversy at the election count.
Some observers claimed that it hadn’t been immediately clear from the election terminology exactly what the turkeys were voting for and that this had skewed the vote. As one spokesturkey put it, “we’ve been blinded by gobble-gobbledegook”.
